Pooja & Kamla

Pooja and Kamla live with her parents and siblings (2 brothers and 2 sisters).

Like many girls living in the Thar Desert, Pooja wakes up at 5:00 am and then helps her mother to collect water for the family. She will likely take on more household responsibilities as she grows older. Pooja is extremely shy and did not provide much additional information on her aspirations.

Thanks to the generous support our donors SkyLink Children’s Charity and Richa & Atul Aggarwal Foundation; Pooja will be able to dedicate her full attention towards her studies. Her family will soon have its own rainwater harvesting tank which will enable Pooja to attend school rather than walk long distances to collect water.
