Dhapu & Taku

14-year-old Dhapu and 12-year-old Taku recently dropped out of school to help their mother collect water and perform household chores such as feeding their goats and cows. In addition, transportation to school was difficult as the nearest school is a few kilometers from their home.

Because of generous donations from Isha Aggarwal and the Richa & Atul Aggarwal Foundation, Kesar and Taku will have the time and resources to pursue their education — they will receive a rainwater harvesting tank, bicycles, and tuition. The tank will be completed in January 2018 and will provide the family with clean water for 9 months of the year. The family will also receive training to plant a garden. This will enable Kesar and Taku to have more vegetables in their diet.

Now, Dhapu and Taku will be able to return to school and pursue college!
